Fins are are essential for scuba diving, snorkeling or spearfishing as they provide a large surface area to give you additional propulsion in the water.
There are two main types of fins - open heel fins and full foot. Open heel tend to be worn with dive boots or dive socks and have adjustable straps or spring straps which provide the best possible adjustment or fit. Full foot fins have an enclosed foot pocket, fit like a shoe are not adjustable so generally don’t require a dive boots as you wear these with a bare foot.
When looking at purchasing a pair of scuba fins, fit, comfort, performance and colour are all critical factors. Chose a fin to suit your activity and budget, they all fit slightly differently so it is best to grab a boot and try some on.
